Moving and Handling Care

We understand that when we get older our bodies don't always do as they're told. If you or a family member are using equipment to mobilize or transfer around your property, we are here to help. Our goal is to keep you as independent as possible for as long as possible. We have a moving and handling trainer within the company that works with you and your family, to design a moving and handling plan that suits you and your needs.

We have an experienced team on hand to conduct moving and handling techniques specific to your needs. We work closely with Occupational therapists, Physios, and local back care links to ensure we can adapt transfer techniques and equipment to suit you and your property.

What is a moving and handling plan?

A moving and handling plan is a plan specifically designed to direct the care team accurately, on how to complete safe moving and handling techniques, to assist you in transferring around your property for various tasks.

Do I need a moving and handling plan?

If you or a family member use a piece of moving and handling equipment, or score above a 10 on our M+H assessment rating then a moving and handling plan will be needed.

All of our carers are fully trained in using moving and handling equipment, so we can assist with transfers within the home. We also assist with transfers during sitting visits if it is required. Click the link for more information.

Stroke Care

Following a stroke life can seem daunting and the changes that occur can be frustrating. You may find you need support with tasks that previously you could do independently, we can support you with this on a daily or weekly basis. You may also find several therapies are beneficial, including: physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. We can support you to continue with your therapy exercises following your visits from a professional. We can also recommend, and support you to attend, sessions tailored specifically towards stroke rehabilitation in the Portsmouth Area. For more information on support you can visit Stroke Association website here:
