We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Deputy Manager to work for a Community Care Company based in Portsmouth.

Handle With Care (Portsmouth) Ltd has been caring for the people of Portsmouth since May 1994. We are a family-run agency providing care within service users' homes. The aim of this agency is to sustain the quality of the services offered to designated service users while meeting the challenge of the new regulatory requirements on the services offered.

As the Deputy Manager some of your responsibilities would be:

  • Supporting and overseeing all day-to-day operations, monitoring and reviewing quality audits, and supporting in the implementation of ongoing plans for improvement.

  • Managing and facilitating CQC inspections and safeguarding concerns.

  • Organising, monitoring, and supporting when needed, the emergency on-call service support in the evenings and weekends.

  • Completing and monitoring spot checks, supervisions, and other compliance checks on the community team.

  • Maintaining full and accurate records & reporting systems.

  • Stepping in when the Registered Manager is off work or unavailable.

  • Monitor and manage recruitment when necessary.

  • Monitor and manage training and compliance.

  • Working to budgets.

  • Undertaking training and development to keep up to date with the latest industry practice and changes in company policy.

  • Delegating tasks when needed whilst also taking responsibility for outcomes.

  • Keeping up the ethos of the company and promoting team morale, whilst building good working relationships with our team.

What we need from you:

  • You will be required to be self-motivated and have good organisational and time management skills.

  • A clear understanding of CQC requirements is essential.

  • Experience in this role.

  • QCF level 4 (or the equivalent) in Health and Social Care – Opportunity to work towards your level 5 in the future.

  • Car and a full driving license.

The right candidate will have the full support of the Owner, Registered Manager and a dependable, loyal, management team as well as our hard working, dedicated community team. It will be your responsibility to organise and motivate your entire team of staff. You will need to clearly understand person-centred care, interpersonal skills, and quality customer service. In return, you'll have the support of a team that is always prepared to go that extra mile for their management team, with many staff having worked for the company for over 20 years.

Handle With Care has a supportive team of staff and the Deputy Manager will be responsible for encouraging this ethos and giving hands-on support to them alongside our existing Registered Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to make a real difference not just to the company but also to the development of care in the community. The company and the owner are often involved in new and exciting pilot schemes with Portsmouth City Council. You will have the opportunity to not only be involved in these schemes but also to identify and develop new ones.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Overtime available

  • Weekend availability when needed

Experience:

  • Care: Minimum 3 years (required)

  • Leadership/Management: Minimum 1 year (required)

Pay: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
